Aries: Amethyst
When one first journeys down the spiritual path with crystals, amethyst is by far that first stone people tend to take that journey with. Part of that journey is to look into your darker self, that side of you that you don’t often like to admit is there. We all like to play a certain role in life and that means hiding certain aspects of our personality. Amethyst is asking you to stop hiding from yourself, that if you really want to grow at anything, you have to accept the whole that is you.
Taurus: Thunder Eggs
Keep an open mind, this good be a good month for travel and adventures in far off places. These adventures will lead to a combining of two elements; spiritual and physical or personal and business. In either case, Thunder Eggs are saying, go ahead and take the adventure, they will make sure you are safe on that trip.
Gemini: Rose Quartz
When people think of love, rose quartz is usually the stone they have in mind. It is all about love, a gentle love for anything really. Rose quartz has so many great qualities to share, but the catch is, it is a soft stone with soft energies. You need to relax and relate to enjoy the energies. When you do, you will no longer have to worry about giving and receiving, you will be one with the one you love to an extent that such things are meaningless.
Cancer: Rhodonite
Rhodonite is a love stone, an external love stone of generosity. It is great for helping you use your talents in an external way. While many love stones focus on the inner world of emotions, rhodonite is all about taking those inner gifts and sharing them. Not just in an intimate relationship but with anyone or anything you with to show emotional expression to. So get out there and share those inner gifts with the world.
Leo: Aquamarine
We all have problems in life, what Aquamarine asks of you is to solve your problems with compassion, patience and understanding. The goal here is to help your level of maturity grow on the emotional side of things. Aquamarine helps you use your emotions as a sign of strength if you allow it.
Virgo: Sodalite
Sometimes in the modern world, it is very easy to stop feeling. It is very easy to be shallow where your emotional depth is shallower than a puddle on the sidewalk. This happens when we lose sight of our selves. Sodalite is all about us coming back, finding the inner calm and being relaxed with who we are again. Sodalite is asking you to relax, go within and keep the dreams alive, as it will help you get them.
Libra: Citrine
Want more money? Then this month is your chance. But to get it you have to let go of any attachments to negative feelings about money or wealth. So that sounds easy but it’s not if you happen to be under the financial gun. So try your best to let go for it is in your best interest to do so.
Scorpio: Prehnite
There is a good chance that a prophetic experience will happen for you this month. It may be in a dream or when you least expect it. But what meaning this message has is something you need to follow up on. It will most certainly be a light bulb moment for you so you won’t mistake it for something else. But the message is great. I would tell you but that would take a lot of the fun out of it for you, but it’s a big one.
Sagittarius: Ruby
Ruby is a complex stone, mainly due to the fact that rubies come in all kinds of stones that mean very different things. In this case, we are talking about love. The kind of love that you may have felt was lost or at least was not as bright as it once was. Well that’s about to change as Ruby says, go for that passion and rekindle that love. You will see how quickly the bad memories fade and you remember the good times again. But as always, there is a catch… If YOU don’t act, none of this will matter. It is about you expressing your feelings, only then will you get what you want.
Capricorn: Clear Quartz
Clear quartz has a reputation of being a very programmable crystal. With that in mind, this is a year for setting goals. Be realistic with your goals, so that you can easily attain them. Get a small clear quartz and program it with your goals and sit back and enjoy the benefits of seeing those goals become reality.
Aquarius: Kyanite
Pay attention to your dreams and intuition over the month. You are being guided to find a deeper spiritual meaning to your life. Kyanite is a great stone to help you unearth the path that you are being guided towards. This is your area, you know you are great at this stuff so just dive in and enjoy the journey.
Pisces: Gold
Your personality development needs to go within. Beyond the surface where things like money, status and ego exist. For a lot of you this will require contemplation and meditation. Do not fall into the trap of thinking money is evil, it is neutral in it’s own right, we are the ones that give it meaning. You need to go even beyond that level to a deeper level to find true personal meaning as to what that means to you, enjoy the journey to find out.

Bacon tattoos, Russian mafias, billion dollar deals, sadness and reflection, that was my week.
I met a woman with tattoos of bacon on her arms, I didn’t ask her why, because it was a business meeting but it was a rather odd thing to see tattooed onto someone’s arms. My week started out great, I was at a conference and made some great contacts. At one point I was having a friendly chat with my counterparts at the other titans in the states. Someone called us that, titans, and it was a bit funny to realize, they were referring to me in that group. Normally I am on the outside, so it was nice to be included.
However at that event, one of my team members disappeared. I didn’t think much of it at the time, I figured he just ran off on some wild technology chase like he often does. But the next day he was missing. He suffered a loss in his family. It was my job to take care of representing the company in this matter. I found this gut wrenching. One of my friends at work said they could see how I physically looked ill. It reminded me of some of the things I take for granted. I also saw how most of the people I work with would run from giving another human being sympathy in a time of need. What was interesting is, some of the meanest hardasses I work with, expressed the most compassion. One woman who everyone considers just a pain to work with, was so shaken about the news, she asked for a few minutes alone before she could engage me. She helped me arrange things.
Through out the week I had to prep for a big presentation. In that presentation, I was asked to go from a billion to 3 billion in revenue. There is great change in the company I work at and I am doing what I can to protect my team from the changes that may be negative. Those of us in leadership know that changes are coming. I have been fighting to protect my team. If rumors are true, a blood bath is coming and I need to ensure my people have jobs. As a result I am having to step up my ability to great even great technology concepts. Concepts even I am concerned may be giving people with small minds too much power. I wrestle with the issue, how far do I go to protect my people?
I had a funny run in with a guy I call the Russian mafia. As my reputation grows in the industry, people seek me out to chat. This guy from Russia flew all the way out there just to talk to me. I cleared my calendar to chat with him. After all, he flew from Moscow just to chat with me. It was a strange conversation, one that ended with him begging me to fly back to Moscow with him. I never met this guy, some strange man asking me to fly to Moscow is a little strange. Especially when you consider the really sensitive stuff I know is locked in my head, stealing my computer wouldn’t do much for him, assuming trade secrets is what he was after.
My chatty co-worker is hell bent on setting me up on a date. I work with a woman who never stops talking. She sits next to me so often she will just come over and start talking about the most random stuff. This week she pointed out I never mention a date when I talk about the weekends. I think she is just trying to be friendly. But it is a little embarrassing when I’m in a meeting with her and she points out I am single and available to all the other women in the room. I work in a field with a lot of men and the women in the field don’t tend to be my type.

Aries: Justice
If this card shows up, it often means a time of decision is at hand. Often we live in patterns, repeating the same thing over and over. Now is a time to make a choice, you can keep going with the pattern or try something new out, the choice is yours.
Taurus: 5 of Swords
We all like to win, until we find out that winning was actually losing. The five of swords is a card of winning and losing through trickery and manipulation. You may find yourself winning and feeling good, but the losers may not be graceful losers and try to take action against you, watch out.
Gemini: Queen of Cups
Are you ready for a journey? I bet your heart is filled, as well as your head, with ideas of grand adventure. And the Queen of cups, is a woman who has been around the world, she knows what a journey means. She knows the price you have to pay, are you ready to pay that price? Because if you go on a journey, your heart will pay the price of darkness for this journey. There is risk and terrifying loneliness waiting for you, but that’s the price life will take from you for your journey. The queen knows this, this is why she is not filled with illusions.
Cancer: 10 of Swords
The end is a new beginning. And ending is coming and it is a rough ending for sure. There seems like nothing good to it at all. But it is finally over and with it, a new start can come. So even though everything looks bad and it is, the hope is that, something new can now come in and replace it.
Leo: Wheel of Fortune
Sometimes people consider this card a warning. But really it is about the randomness of the events. Like going to the casino. This week will have a bit of that aspect to it.
Virgo: Knight of Wands
Someone who acts on will and inspiration is this knight. A great person to have when you need to just bulldoze forward, but, not the best person to have when you need to think something through. Don’t fall for this person’s will, they may seem strong but their inability to think things through can come back to bite you.
Libra: 9 of Wands
One more battle to go. This is a card of someone who has seen a lot of battles and knows what it takes to survive. Someone who has been through a lot and can work through the pain because this person understands that the pain is temporary and worrying about it won’t help the situation. This is the person you will need to be this week.
Scorpio: Page of Pentacles
Ready for adventure? Most pages are all about being curious and going out and doing something. This page is very well prepared and ready for hands on. The one thing you need to remember is, this page is very prepared, if you want and adventure, be prepared.
Sagittarius: The Hermit
We live in an age of great information. Often, we are told the more we know the smarter we are or the better we can make decisions. But we often know that just leads to information paralysis. At times it is good to take a time out from everything and just reflect and quiet the mind. This would be a good week to do just that.
Capricorn: 5 of Wands
The 5 of wands is often a card of conflict. It often means a fight is about to come your way. You can fight if you want but if you want to try a different route, then try to remove yourself and observe the motives and learn to anticipate the actions of those you have conflict with, this can help minimize the drama.
Aquarius: 4 of Pentacles
Four is about stability and pentacles being related to earth are also stability related. A penny saved is a penny earned and don’t spend more than you have. Stability is key this week. Focusing on the safe path may be boring but it is the path to keep you safe and that’s what you need right now.
Pisces: The High Priestess
The high priestess is one of my favorite cards. She represents a side of me that comes out in readings that often can frustrate clients. The high priestess is about wisdom and knowing. Yet as she has a look that draws you in, you can see in her eyes that she is hiding something from your logical mind. S slight mischievous smile she cracks with a mix of love, innocence and playful mystery floating threw her gaze. If you were hoping for a direct and rational answer, you are out of luck. She speaks truth to the heart and soul. When you can listen to her through those centers, her knowledge will intuitively be there for you to understand.

Aries: 7 of Pentacles
So, how does reality measure up to your expectations? Enjoying the ride so far? I had a meeting with a VP this week at work, she wanted so much and found that reality was not up to her expectations. Expecting massive amounts of analysis, I had to let her know that the reality is that I worked fast and nimble and by the seat of my pants. And if she wanted all this analysis work, she would have to give me the resources for it. Only then would her expectations of reality and reality itself, actually match. Same goes for you.
Taurus: 4 of Wands
Good times is what this card is about. If you don’t have fun or find fun, it’s own fault because fun is waiting for you to come join it. This is one of those cards that just speaks to you and says, hey, it’s the weekend, let us have a party! So go take it up on it’s offer and have fun.
Gemini: 9 of Cups
It used to be when you got a fortune teller reading, they would ask you to make a wish and if the 9 of cups showed up in the reading, your wish was to come true, for the 9 of cups is known as the wish card. But I want you to think of this card a little differently. Most people think of the person who gets their wish granted, but what about the person who grants the wish? Do they get even more pleasure than the person who receives?
Cancer: Ace of Swords
Swords represent logic and reason. The ace of swords is a card that is good to have. It means that solutions to problems are close at hand and are within unattainable distance.
Leo: The Star
The star, she gives many things, starlight, star bright and wish upon a star. The star is all about guidance and assurance, but this is where things can get tricky because people often mix fate and destiny with this card. Are you really fated to go to a certain place? Is it your destiny to be a certain person? Maybe but maybe it is in your head. The star is about assurance and guidance, if what you are doing feels right then go with it, otherwise, it’s probably not the best thing for you.
Virgo: Queen of Pentacles
This queen is all about the nicer things in life. She can spot quality a mile a way. I see her as a 1930′s socialite, in a dress that just screams elegance. She looks confident yet looks out of the corner of her eye to make sure everyone is watching her, she does crave a bit of attention. Dance with this queen and you will be swept off your feet.
Libra: 7 of Swords
Someone has taken something, that is for sure, but who is the thief? Being an individual true to yourself can often be seen by society as theft, you have broken away, they invested in you and they feel you stole from them. As a result, society will seek to take something from you as what it sees as payment for the “theft” it believes you enacted on it.
Scorpio: 9 of Pentacles
Independence is very important with this card, for it represents self made success. Make sure you appreciate it, for it is a card that demonstrates hard work and self control to attain a level of success and happiness that is hard to match by the other cards. It doesn’t mean the bad days don’t come now and then but it does me that you can overcome them easily.
Sagittarius: 9 of Swords
They say that worrying makes you old fast and in this cards case, that is true because this kind of worry will keep you up at night. You know the situation; worry that you can’t stop thinking about, it keeps you from sleeping at all. Don’t let it keep you up because you can deal with it, if you just stop letting it control you!
Capricorn: 10 of Wands
A card of burden, you know you are carrying a heavy load, and you are well aware it is a load that you have carried for a while. There is much for you to learn from this experience. No it will not be fun but it is a burden, one that can and will be overcome.
Aquarius: The Sun
The Sun is a very simple card, it represents wisdom and conscious understanding. Now, understanding can be good or bad, as we all know, the truth can hurt and be painful. But don’t worry, this kind of understanding is one of joy. What you learn will make you happy and set you free.
Pisces: 10 of Swords
The end is a new beginning. And ending is coming and it is a rough ending for sure. There seems like nothing good to it at all. But it is finally over and with it, a new start can come. So even though everything looks bad and it is, the hope is that, something new can now come in and replace it.

Aries: Strength
During the Victorian era, strength was shown by keeping a stiff upper lip. You didn’t want to lose your cool, you had to show you had it together. I want you to image a lion and someone coming to help the lion. The lion is hurt and needs your help, so you help. Instead of the lion eating you, it shows strength of character by not eating you and instead by serving you as a devoted friend. The lion is showing you real strength but so do you show strength by counseling the lion. The lion is much like a shadow self, to face it and show care and compassion in the face of it’s anguish is strength as well.
Taurus: King of Swords
The only chaos you have control over is the chaos of your mind. That is what the king of swords is all about, that is if he were to talk. You see the king is the quietest of all the kings. A man who chooses his words carefully for he knows, once spoken, they can’t be taken back. He likes to be responsible in his actions and realizes, he needs to be in control of his mind first, so do you.
Gemini: King of Wands
This king is a man of action, not possibilities. If you spent your time, gazing out the window wondering what might be, by the time you turn around, chances he will be gone. This is a man who likes to live life and do grand things. He does this by sacrificing the happiness of the future for the good times of the present. This is a tricky card because on the one hand it says, success but what is the price? The price is, you will have a time of action and feel busy, but if emotional fulfillment through love and companionship is what you crave, then these things will be the prices you pay, for you won’t have them.
Cancer: Knight of Swords
All knights are people of action, but this knight is a thinker as well. This knight enjoys planning and strategy and looking at the big picture. But this knight is always a quiet knight that comes up with his ideas on his own and planning well. Once plans are clear in his mind, he acts! Want to keep up, then you need to be quick of mind. Nimble in all regards or this knight will leave you behind. Don’t want to be left behind? Then be ready for action when this knight is.
Leo: Ace of Swords
Swords represent logic and reason. The ace of swords is a card that is good to have. It means that solutions to problems are close at hand and are within unattainable distance.
Virgo: The Fool
The fool always represents the innocence before the journey starts. The fool in a reading can often mean the start of a journey that is dear to your soul. Enjoy.
Libra: Six of Wands
Two truths and two points of view weave together to create one experience. Recognition and accomplishment are never done in a vacuum. When someone stands up and gets recognition for their work, it is rarely done without the hard work of others. The receiver of good fortune and the viewer are often intertwined on a certain level. To truly see a situation for what it is, sit in the seat of both parties to really appreciate the moment.
Scorpio: Nine of Swords
They say that worrying makes you old fast and in this cards case, that is true because this kind of worry will keep you up at night. You know the situation; worry that you can’t stop thinking about, it keeps you from sleeping at all. Don’t let it keep you up because you can deal with it, if you just stop letting it control you!
Sagittarius: The High Priestess
The high priestess is one of my favorite cards. She represents a side of me that comes out in readings that often can frustrate clients. The high priestess is about wisdom and knowing. Yet as she has a look that draws you in, you can see in her eyes that she is hiding something from your logical mind. She speaks truth to the heart and soul. When you can listen to her through those centers, her knowledge will intuitively be there for you to understand.
Capricorn: Queen of Swords
This queen is a complex woman. Often seen as a cold woman, that is not really true, she is one you have to look below the surface to understand. She carries a sword around and she knows how to use it. She doesn’t use it randomly. See she is a faithful woman who cares deeply, even though she has been hurt deeply in the past, she still has enough compassion in her heart to care for others. She will be very faithful to you and there for you when you need her. But remember, you need to treat her right, that sword she carries is not a prop and she knows how to use it.
Aquarius: Knight of Cups
Chivalry and romance, the idea of being in love for the idea of love. A knight that is driven by emotions. While the other knights would move heaven and earth for you, the knight of cups would give you his heart if you needed a new one, knowing that his heart would live on and to this knight, that is all that matters. This knight is full of melodrama and seems to lack any real contribution to society, but this knight reminds us of our emotional side like no one else can.
Pisces: Queen of Pentacles
This queen is all about the nicer things in life. She can spot quality a mile a way. I see her as a 1930′s socialite, in a dress that just screams elegance. She looks confident yet looks out of the corner of her eye to make sure everyone is watching her, she does crave a bit of attention. Dance with this queen and you will be swept off your feet.

An Unusual Lemurian
A few months ago I bought a lemurian seed quartz. It was one of those things that I just felt drawn to so I bought it. It just sat around my house for a while until I had a conversation with a geologist friend of mine and was describing to her what it looked like. She was curious so I brought it to her shop. It turns out I have another unusual lemurian.
When I bought this crystal, it was an impulse buy. I didn’t think about it and when I got it home, I knew it was usual. I wasn’t sure it was a lemurian because I have never seen one like this before. It is nearly 9 inches and is double terminated with fine black like hairs at the tips. I brought it to my friend and it just so happened she had another rock hound over at the time. They both confirmed it is a lemurian and they both were surprised by it.
Double terminated lemurians are not the norm but not unusual either, but one of this size is not that common. The black like hairs turned about to be black tourmaline and obsidian. There is also one side that looks like the crystal grew over something. So they said it was certainly a very old crystal to have had enough time to do that growing.
Now I paid about $120 for it and they offered to add another zero to it on the spot if I would sell it. I said no. What does the crystal mean is now a big curiosity to me and why did it land in my lap? An unusual lemurian that is far my complex than I am explaining is something I always find interesting.

Aries: The Hanged Man
Normally this card mean sacrifice, but I want you to think of it differently. Think of it as a temporary departure from the rational mind. We live a world that is fairly strict in how it views things. The hanged man has scarified social conformity to see the world in a different way. I’m not saying this is going to be easy, there will be difficult associated with it, but the reward can outweigh the cost.
Taurus: 4 of Pentacles
Four is about stability and pentacles being related to earth are also stability related. A penny saved is a penny earned and don’t spend more than you have. Stability is key this week. Focusing on the safe path may be boring but it is the path to keep you safe and that’s what you need right now.

The star is about assurance and guidance, if what you are doing feels right then go with it, otherwise, it’s probably not the best thing for you.
Cancer: The Emperor
The emperor is the essences of order. Straight likes and plans that create order is what the emperor’s message is all about. That safety and confidence comes from this order. The message the emperor would say to you if you object is. “nature provides bounty once a year, I make sure there is food everyday.”
Leo: Queen of Wands
This queen brings good fortune and good people to her like a moth is drawn to a flame. She wants you to be your best because she only wants the best around her. Be your best and you will enjoy the fortunes she can shine upon you.
Virgo: King of Pentacles
A man who is conservative and after the best in life. He gets there by being cautious and careful about what he invests in. He knows what is best and how to obtain it in a manner that doesn’t take him to far off from beaten path. His methods should be your methods this week.
Libra: Death
Even expected endings bring sadness. The way this card is often used is to say a new beginning is coming, which is true, it is. But that doesn’t mean you hide from the sadness. If something does come to an end, embrace the sadness, it will lead to love and you will really move on from there.
Scorpio: Ace of Wands
Wands are often associated with fire and like fire, are complex. The ace of wands is a sign of a spark of positivity to come. It will not be a big bang, it is just the spark. So don’t get upset if things don’t move as fast as you would like, just know they are moving in the right direction.
Sagittarius: 3 of Cups
An unexpected good time is head. Enjoy this time. Life can get routine and this will be a good break from the mundane. Chances are it will involve a blast from the past in some way.
Capricorn: Page of Pentacles
Ready for adventure? Most pages are all about being curious and going out and doing something. This page is very well prepared and ready for hands on. The one thing you need to remember is, this page is very prepared, if you want and adventure, be prepared.

Aries: Tiger Iron
These past few years has been a time when people seek the spiritual and believe that the physical and emotional are somehow bad or limiting. That’s not true. In fact you can’t manifest if you are not well rooted in the physical. WIthout that anchor, you just don’t have enough energy to create. You may become this glowing spiritual being that has no power to make what they want. So Tiger Iron is here to help you get grounded again and to remind you, you are a spiritual being in a physical body for a reason.
Taurus: Malachite
Malachite is often considered a good fortune stone. That luck will come your way soon. Now if everything is great in life then yes, that luck is going to come. But if you happen to live in the real world, with the rest of us, then you probably suffer from regret and guilt. This is due to your behaving in a way you wish you hadn’t in the past. It is a failure to see the positive in your choices and the fact you do have choices. If you want to see the good fortune of malachite shine on you, start seeing and feeling the positive.
Gemini: Ruby
Ruby is a complex stone, mainly due to the fact that rubies come in all kinds of stones that mean very different things. In this case, we are talking about love. The kind of love that you may have felt was lost or at least was not as bright as it once was. Well that’s about to change as Ruby says, go for that passion and rekindle that love. You will see how quickly the bad memories fade and you remember the good times again. But as always, there is a catch… If YOU don’t act, none of this will matter. It is about you expressing your feelings, only then will you get what you want.
Cancer: Azurite
Azurite is a mental stone, many people meditate with it on their third eye. What Azurite is asking of you right now it to give it a task, to help you reach your goals. With Azurite as your partner, it is best to focus on what you want as if you have it already. Even if you think you are being rejected, don’t give it, because often what you will find is that Azurite has already mapped out a better outcome for you, you just have to trust it.
Leo: Amazonite
Life has a way of causing an imbalance in our system. If not treated, this can drain us of a lot of our vitality. You are in a position where you may have such experiences this month. Amazonite asks you to seek out that balance so you can get back to normal again. Find time to relax and recharge, that’s what will ensure a smooth month for you.
Virgo: Pyrite
Pyrite, also known as fool’s gold, and what a great name for this stone. Because the message it brings is that you are emotionally unbalanced and the reason is because of something someone said that they are trying to tell is gold but in fact is not. The real trick is, you have to really look at this. The person who opens up to you and tells you from their heart, as much as that might hurt to hear, is not the person who is doing this. It is the one who belittles you and tells you they only do it for your own good. The solution is to regain your emotional balance again. Go within and find yourself, it’s not outside of you.
Libra: Clear Quartz
Clear quartz has a reputation of being a very programmable crystal. With that in mind, this is a year for setting goals. Be realistic with your goals, so that you can easily attain them. Get a small clear quartz and program it with your goals and sit back and enjoy the benefits of seeing those goals become reality.
Scorpio: Aquamarine
We all have problems in life, what Aquamarine asks of you is to solve your problems with compassion, patience and understanding. The goal here is to help your level of maturity grow on the emotional side of things. Aquamarine helps you use your emotions as a sign of strength if you allow it.
Sagittarius: Turquoise
All is not well. You know this and so do those around you. The issue is that you don’t express yourself properly. By that I mean, you say one thing but show quite another. You may ask for peace but when others give it to you, you get upset that nobody is talking to you. What you need to do is learn to express your true feelings, the outcome will not be as bad as you think it will be. Turquoise can help you in this situation to express what you really need to say, stop hiding your emotions, people want to be with the real you, not the mask you put up.
Capricorn: Tiger’s Eye
Calm communications and a calm mind are what is called for this month. Want to get ahead, then remain calm. Stress is what tightens the brain up, causes you to stop thinking and when you stop thinking, you can’t come up with anything good to say. So remain calm and let the words just flow.
Aquarius: Amethyst
When one first journeys down the spiritual path with crystals, amethyst is by far that first stone people tend to take that journey with. Part of that journey is to look into your darker self, that side of you that you don’t often like to admit is there. We all like to play a certain role in life and that means hiding certain aspects of our personality. Amethyst is asking you to stop hiding from yourself, that if you really want to grow at anything, you have to accept the whole that is you.
Pisces: Wulfenite
This is a very intuitive guiding stone. By that I mean, the message it brings forth is to follow your gut. All too often we fall into the trap of listening to so called experts or authority figures on what is best for us. Wulfenite is asking you to trust your own soul’s judgment for what is best for you. Your job to listen to that judgment. It is not the loudest voice out there but it is the best voice for you to be listening to.

Sometimes it is Best to Not Care
I have been super busy these last few weeks. I am doing two jobs right now, I was promoted but they didn’t think about the product I manage and didn’t think that they actually still need me to run it. So I have two jobs, would be nice if they paid me two salaries but no. But I am placed in a very interesting position where I see a lot of the sausage making. But I was really learned to just not care about the drama.
My old job was front lines, getting in the weeds and fighting it out with our competitors. I like that kind of job; I like being in the field and doing cool things and inventing ideas. But those days are long gone. I started as a one-man show, just me and my idea for a product. Now I have 5 development teams and entourage that follows me around. I actually preferred it when it was just me. Now I can’t even go to the restroom alone!
My new role is what I call a staff officer position. So using a military analogy, I went from a front line officer, leading a team in direct combat, to now sitting in the rear with the senior officers and helping them to develop strategy. How I ended up there is that I told them the truth. Among the people who like me, I’m called the Idea Engine. Basically if you have a problem, I can find a solution for it. But as the team grew and structure grew, my ability to create new ideas was reduced because I was spending most of my time managing the team. But people wanted new ideas, big ideas like I had created. So I told them, I can’t do both well, I can either run the product or you will have to send me elsewhere to create new ideas. That’s what they did.
I kind of figured that much. So many people lust for my product because I created something that can fundamentally change the way the entire organization does business, that’s not my saying so, that’s the general perception. I just made what seemed like the answer to the problem. I wasn’t thinking about empire building, just solving the problem. But I saw early on the wolves and vultures circling me and knew I had to protect the product, thus the massive structure. Yesterday my program manager said that we have the hottest product in the entire company. I told him that just a few short months ago, I was getting the door slammed in my face because so many couldn’t see the value. He was shocked. Shocked because we have people constantly contacting us to join the team. But it is true, as recently as the start of the year, people couldn’t see the value, but shortly after the year started, I hit critical mass and just exploded with rapid and massive growth and I was able to scale that growth, which is the real trick. There were other teams working on just parts of what I solved and in months, I did what took them years to just figure out. I not only figured it out but created the working models too.
My product is now considered a heavy mass object; other projects are created to service my product and other teams include my product as a service they will use. This is where the new job comes in. I was fine in my job because frankly, I don’t have to work that hard. When I am launching a new feature, sure, that’s a 50 plus hour week but other than that, I can show up at 9am and leave at 5pm and still get all my work done, lets be honest, managing people isn’t that hard. It’s not like I’m doing the building myself anymore so it’s not that hard. So it was not that big of a challenge, I’ve had far tougher jobs in the past. But the drama around me is something else.
So now that it is official that I am being pulled away from my product, leadership is now circling me. Everyone wants the idea engine on their team. Nobody has asked me to make anything yet but the whole “secret” off the calendar meetings people are setting up with me is quite funny. At least I get out for lunch more as they don’t want to meet on the corporate campus. I use this as a way to try out all the local restaurants I never got to go to before.
My team found out last week, this week they approach me; they are worried what will happen. That actually surprised me, I didn’t think most of them would care if I left. They seem to just complain a lot about my rules and procedures, which tend to keep them from getting in trouble. I do feel a little sad about losing my product. As much as I try not to get emotional about a product, I built that product. It was my idea and I treat it like a work of art. It may be just code on a computer but there was an aspect of aesthetics and beauty that even a non-techies could appreciate. And the IT people saw the beauty and simplicity of that beauty. I almost want to sit and admire it before someone else is put in charge and will change it to fit their image.
But I am asked to make all the other products like mine now. So it is a promotion, instead of my product, I will have all of them. But instead of being the painter, I will be a director telling the painter what to paint. It’s not really the same.
But the drama is more, now I have people looking at me and saying “what will you invent now?” I don’t know. I don’t care. Because their mindset is far different from my own. I look at a problem and seek to create an elegant solution that should be intuitive and makes sense. They look at a problem and seek to find a way to attack an enemy or gain leverage over someone else. If that had been my mindset, I never would have put together such a product I did that has gotten me so much attention. The amusing part of this though, is that, they actually have put me in a position where I will probably just get poached by another company. Actually, those companies are already calling.
I think every experience has a lesson. For me, history repeats itself and I realize, there is something I have yet to learn. This situation I am in is actually quite normal for me. I get a new job, make something and then all of a sudden, they want more and they see to restrain me and keep me from leaving, which actually is what causes me to leave. They never seem to understand that it was when they ignored me and let me do what I do best, that’s how they got the winning idea they love so much. So it is happening again. New role, but the ropes are tighter. Will they be smart enough to remember what I was doing to create the idea? Or will they just expect me to sit in a golden cage and sing? The latter is going to make some other company very happy.
Anyway, that’s what’s going on in my world. I think the best thing to do is to stick to the plan and not get emotional about it, which would be the knee jerk reaction. The funny part is, this product really exposed itself to me, it wasn’t like I saw it right away. It was like putting a puzzle together and finding the clues along the way and then finally I was like, “oh, that’s what it is.” See for all the metrics, research and analysis I do, at the end of the day, it was an intuitive feel that allowed me to create the product. It just felt right. The research just helped with presenting. But again, if you really want to create like that, you have to have the right frame of mind. I wasn’t doing it for ego or leverage or power. I was truly seeking the best answer to the question with an innocent almost childlike curiosity. I have found that tends to work well in any situation. When I go in with a motive that isn’t so pure, things don’t work out so well. It also helped to be honest. In the politics of things, I didn’t play games I just kept it real. People didn’t always like what I said, but they could respect it.
So if you hear of me moving, you’ll know why. I actually look forward to it in some ways, I did enjoy creating my product, I haven’t had that kind of fun in a long time. I wouldn’t mind doing it again.

Aries: Ten of Swords
The end is a new beginning. And ending is coming and it is a rough ending for sure. There seems like nothing good to it at all. But it is finally over and with it, a new start can come. So even though everything looks bad and it is, the hope is that, something new can now come in and replace it.
Taurus: Nine of Swords
They say that worrying makes you old fast and in this cards case, that is true because this kind of worry will keep you up at night. You know the situation; worry that you can’t stop thinking about, it keeps you from sleeping at all. Don’t let it keep you up because you can deal with it, if you just stop letting it control you!
Gemini: The Moon
Such a tricky card. Tricky because it is about the devils we create at our conscious level and how those deal with what the subconscious tries to bring the surface. The moon is that focal point in the darkness we get drawn to but often what you should really be focusing on is what is in the darkness that the moon is helping to shine just enough light on to help you sort of make it out.
Cancer: Five of Swords
We all like to win, until we find out that winning was actually losing. The five of swords is a card of winning and losing through trickery and manipulation. You may find yourself winning and feeling good, but the losers may not be graceful losers and try to take action against you, watch out.
Leo: Three of Cups
The Rule of three is in play here. The past the present and the future come together to have some fun. For once, they do not conflict with each other; they in fact can complement each other. This is a card of good times, it can be that old friends come together and talk about the future, whatever the case, it will be nice and you won’t have any awkward situations to deal with.
Libra: 4 of Pentacles
Four is about stability and pentacles being related to earth are also stability related. A penny saved is a penny earned and don’t spend more than you have. Stability is key this week. Focusing on the safe path may be boring but it is the path to keep you safe and that’s what you need right now.
Scorpio: Six of Swords
This is a card that represents leaving. You have had enough and know it’s time to get out and go somewhere else and you do that. But you are not alone, someone is providing you help. So when the help arrives, take it and go, you’ll be better off.
Sagittarius: 3 of Pentacles
What does it take to create a thing of beauty? Something you put your heart and soul into? Find out!
Capricorn: The Empress
The Empress is often associated with a motherly figure in many decks. But the image you should think about here is one of abundance. Like a mother creating life, it is not always easy, for the abundance she brings forth is abundance through birth and it can sometimes be painful. Don’t let the pain stop you, it is part of the creation process of abundance for you this week.
Aquarius: The Magician
In old readings, the magician was often seen as a trickster and someone who played with people. That may still be if you don’t take note. The magician is the master of magic and discipline and focus is needed to make his magic shine in your life this week. If you can focus and do so with discipline, then the magician a card for changing your world for the better.
Pisces: Two of Pentacles
Is perception the same as reality? Maybe but probably not. But the effort expected on finding is what you will do this week. It’s not a total loss or waste of time, if you get this right, you could actually make something amazing happen.
